Announcing New Location for the 2010 TDC!
Arizona’s Best! 2010 Truck Driving Championship (TDC) will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Tempe Diablo Stadium 2200 West Alameda Drive Tempe, AZ 85282- This year’s TDC will be even bigger and better, with over 200 drivers expected to compete.
Also returning by popular demand is the exciting “step van class! Just like last year, we are proud to announce that this year’s step van champion will compete against other state champions at the National Competition, to be held in Columbus, OH in August!

The TDC Wants YOU! It takes over 120 volunteers to stage the TDC each year. The TDC planning committee is already hard at work, but additional volunteers are needed. Each company that enters a driver in the competition will be contacted to name at least one person to work as a volunteer for each competitor entered in the competition. Each company will also be asked to name one individual to work with the TDC committee in advance of the competition. Having your company’s input, ideas and hands-on help is the best way for you to ensure that this is the best championship ever! Volunteers also help us keep our costs as low as possible. Any changes in the Arizona Truck Driving Championship arrangements up to the April 9 entry deadline will be announced through the “industry insider” published bimonthly by the Arizona Trucking Association or here on the AZ Truck Driving Championship page under the Safety and Compliance tab. After the deadline, entering companies will be contacted via email, phone or fax. Please be sure to provide the key contact’s name, phone number, fax number and email address. Also, if you do not currently receive the “industry insider” or if you are not on ATA’s email list, please call us at 602.850.6000.
NEW TO THE COMPETITION THIS YEAR:By popular request, the TDC Committee has granted permission for two “TDC Familiarity Sessions”. The sessions will focus on the rookie competitor and what she/he needs to know to compete at a competitive level. Also, the session will focus on the competitor who works for a company that does not have the means to prepare their own drivers for the competition. The sessions will be held on March 13, 2010 and March 27, 2010 from 9:00AM to 1:00PM. Each session is a duplicate of the other and is classroom theory only.
These TDC Familiarity Sessions will be held in the Association’s training room and will cover:
1. What to study for the written tests
2. What to study for the pre-trip inspection
3. How the course competition is scored, along with the do’s and don’t of course behavior
The cost for attending a TDC Familiarity Session is $20.00 per person. Please contact Janet White at 602-850-6013 or jwhite@aztrucking.com to sign up for a session and arrange payment.
Important Note: In keeping within the rules of the competition at the State and National level, no competitor may be paid or compensated to participate in these sessions.
